The selected few interior design projects aim to show how EDP addresses both function and form requirements. EDP aimed to push the envelope and evolve from the purist simplicity of the ‘minimalist style’ towards more complex and organic geometries. They believe that it gives an additional aspect of sophistication besides being elegant in simplicity. Combining architectural proportioning and scale with the modernist method of detailing and selection of materials, EDP aimed to create an internal space that speaks of elegance, sophistication and modernity. The design team in EDP believes that the lay approach of ‘minimalist’ concept has come and gone. It’s just passé. After a while, one finds that this so-called ‘minimalist’ banal and lacking in character. It doesn’t withstand the test of time because it lacks meaning and reasoning. It is so muted to the extent that it no longer speaks much of the people that it is designed to serve.
