CVSKL is a heart centre located right in the heart of the transportation hub of Kuala Lumpur Sentral. EDP was tasked with transforming the existing 7 storey mixed-used commercial building into a highly specialised and complex 44-bed cardiac vascular hospital. Selected parts of the exterior were modified to suit the client’s corporate identity and an extra floor plate was introduced for additional floor area. The interiors were completely revamped to conform to strict hospital regulatory and operational requirements which posed a challenge particularly within the constraints of existing prestressed floor slabs over the existing underground train viaduct.
