Westside 1 is located in the affluent gated township of Desa Park City. The client’s design brief was for a tower comprising of 338 condominium units of various floor areas with common facilities and ample carparking for the residents and visitors. As Westside 1 is the first of 3 condominium towers to be developed in an area dominated by low rise buildings, EDP had taken the opportunity to create an iconic landmark for that area that could be distinguished from afar. The tower summit is an interplay of geometric shapes and interlocking planes held together by a central core instead of a monolithic block. The base of the building is lifted above ground, allowing for a spacious lobby framed by soaring planes which showcase surrounding views to their best effect. The geometric modernity of the architecture is softened with landscaping and water features to create an urban resort environment with a seamless transition of indoor and outdoor.
